Thank you to Rabbi Barry L. Schwartz of Congregation Adas Emuno in Leonia, for the interesting d’var Torah on Shelach Lecha (June 15). His fine writing conveyed the important commandment of the tallit.
I watched how my father, may he rest in peace, would wrap the tallit around himself during morning services and learned that the tzitzit is the important part of the tallit; the Bible commanded its use in order “that ye may look upon it and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them.”
As a reader of this column, I found the rabbi’s words informative as he shared a portion of Torah as part of our heritage in our long history of Judaism.
